Saskatoon Berry x 'Northline': An Earlier Saskatoon Crop Above Spring Blossom
Northline produces blueberry-like berries earlier than many other Saskatoon cultivars. White spring flowers and a productive, self-pollinating framework make it useful in a small orchard or edible border.
Plant Characteristics:
- Height: 200-250 cm
- Spread: 175-200 cm
- Flower Colour: White
- Foliage: Green
- Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun
- Soil Requirements: Well-Drained Soil; Moist to Average Soil
Uses and Benefits: Choose it to bring the Saskatoon harvest forward and supply berries for pies and jam. A single plant can fruit, although room for comfortable picking remains important.
Care Instructions: Maintain moisture in well-drained soil and give the shrub good sunlight. Remove weak or ageing stems gradually, manage unwanted spreading shoots and protect the early crop from birds.
