Prunus laurocerasus 'Elly'

Prunus laurocerasus 'Elly': A Slender Hedge of Glossy Green

Elly cherry laurel brings a narrow upright shape to a dense, bushy evergreen shrub. Dark green leaves provide a substantial texture, while white spring flowers add a seasonal lift. The slender outline is particularly useful where a planting needs height and enclosure without a broadly spreading hedge.

Plant Characteristics:

• Height: 375-400 cm
• Spread: 75-80 cm
• Flower Colour: White
• Flowering Period: Spring
• Foliage: Bronze / Green
• Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun / Full Shade / Partial Sun
• Soil Requirements: Moist to Average Soil / Average to Dry Soil

Uses and Benefits:

Elly suits a narrow hedge or upright screening position where a broad cherry laurel would take too much space. Its tall, slender framework and glossy dark leaves create a strong green boundary with white spring flowers.

Care Instructions:

Keep its roots supplied with moisture, especially before winter when fall weather is dry. Choose fertile acidic soil and preserve the narrow framework when pruning. Place this ornamental shrub where people and pets will not ingest its toxic leaves, stems or seeds.
