Ilex glabra Strongbox®

Ilex glabra Strongbox® : A Full Rounded Box of Evergreen Texture

Strongbox® forms a broad rounded inkberry with dense dark green foliage. Its close growth and adaptable shape make it useful for establishing a lasting outline within the garden. Small white spring flowers are understated, leaving the evergreen leaves and balanced habit to provide most of the visual interest.

Plant Characteristics:

• Height: 60-80 cm
• Spread: 60-80 cm
• Flower Colour: White
• Flowering Period: Spring
• Foliage: Dark Green
• Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun / Partial Sun
• Soil Requirements: Moist to Average Soil / Well-Drained Soil

Uses and Benefits:

Strongbox supplies a broad, dense mound for low hedging, path edges and foundation plantings. Its small dark leaves offer an evergreen texture where a compact rounded framework is more useful than a taller upright shrub.

Care Instructions:

Keep the soil slightly acidic and evenly moist while the roots establish. Use light clipping to define a hedge, or leave individual plants to show their natural broad mound. Avoid crowding neighbouring plants against the dense crown.
