Heuchera Dolce® 'Cherry Truffles': Cherry Ruffles Melting into Mahogany

Where to Plant: Its low, wide habit makes it a great edger and groundcover for shady beds, whether in a row along a path, in a container or tucked under shrubs. Because it tolerates salt, it suits beds beside sidewalks and driveways.
Companion Plants: Aruncus 'Chantilly Lace' rises behind the dark coral bells with cream plumes in June and July. Dicentra 'Luxuriant' adds ferny leaves and red flowers from May to August. Edge the bed with Eurybia divaricata 'Eastern Star' for white daisies from August to October. This trio suits shade and part shade.
Plant Care: Proven Winners says it thrives in part shade but will grow in sun or shade. Plant in moist, well-drained soil with organic matter, and keep the crown at soil level. Water regularly through the first season, and during dry spells after that. Trim away tired leaves in spring, and cut flower stems at the base once they finish. Every three or four years, when the crown starts lifting out of the ground, divide it in spring and replant the pieces.
History: 'Cherry Truffles' belongs to the Dolce® line of coral bells sold by Proven Winners®. Coral bells are North American plants, and breeders have crossed several species to get the leaf colours and ruffles seen in modern hybrids like this one.
