Grape x 'Somerset': Early Seedless Grapes That Sweeten to Red
Somerset produces seedless grapes with a sweet, fruity flavour and an August harvest. The berries are edible while pink but become sweeter when left to ripen to red.
Plant Characteristics:
- Height: 450-600 cm
- Spread: 600 cm
- Flower Colour: Green
- Flowering Period: Late Spring to Summer
- Foliage: Green
- Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun
- Soil Requirements: Average to Dry Soil; Moist to Average Soil; Well-Drained Soil
Uses and Benefits: An appealing table grape for an earlier fresh harvest. Its changing fruit colour makes it easy to compare flavour as the crop progresses toward full ripeness.
Care Instructions: Train on a sunny support and prune the vine while dormant. Regulate heavy cropping, maintain airflow around clusters and allow the berries to colour red if a sweeter harvest is preferred.
