Grape x 'De Chaunac': Blue-Black Grapes for the Home Wine Crop

De Chaunac develops medium-sized blue-black grapes, generally ready in mid-September. This selection is commonly grown for wine and gives a productive purpose to a sunny trellis.

Plant Characteristics:

• Height: 200 cm
• Spread: 100-125 cm
• Flower Colour: White
• Flowering Period: Late Spring to Summer
• Foliage: Green
• Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun / Partial Sun
• Soil Requirements: Moist to Average Soil; Well-Drained Soil

Uses and Benefits: Choose it for a wine-focused edible garden rather than a planting intended only for seedless snacking. The clustered harvest can be gathered efficiently from trained canes.

Care Instructions: Train strong shoots along a support and prune while dormant to manage crop load. Maintain air movement around the bunches and let the grapes reach suitable flavour and maturity before picking.
