Goji Berry x 'Firecracker': An Earlier Start to the Goji Harvest
Firecracker bears large red goji berries and fragrant purple flowers, beginning its crop earlier than many goji selections. This self-pollinating shrub can continue fruiting from midsummer toward autumn.
Plant Characteristics:
- Height: 150-175 cm
- Spread: 200-250 cm
- Flower Colour: Purple
- Flowering Period: Summer
- Foliage: Green
- Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun / Partial Sun
- Soil Requirements: Moist to Average Soil; Average to Dry Soil; Well-Drained Soil
Uses and Benefits: A useful choice for a long berry-picking season without needing a second cultivar. The bright crop brings edible colour to a sunny productive border.
Care Instructions: Allow room for the wide branches and provide support where fruiting stems trail. Keep the roots well drained, water during establishment and thin congested growth to make the extended harvest easier to reach.
