Cotoneaster salicifolius 'Repens'

Cotoneaster salicifolius 'Repens': Narrow Leaves on a Spreading Framework

Repens offers a creeping cotoneaster with glossy narrow leaves and a spreading branch pattern. Fragrant white flowers bring spring interest, followed by fruit that turns red later in the year. The slender foliage gives it a distinctive texture while the low growth helps connect open areas of a planting.

Plant Characteristics:

• Height: 50-60 cm
• Spread: 175-200 cm
• Flower Colour: White
• Flowering Period: Spring
• Foliage: Dark Green
• Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun / Partial Sun
• Soil Requirements: Moist to Average Soil / Well-Drained Soil / Average to Dry Soil

Uses and Benefits:

Plant Repens as a spreading groundcover beneath open shrubs or across a generous border edge. The narrow leaves create a different texture from round-leaved cotoneasters, with red fruit adding another seasonal layer.

Care Instructions:

Choose full sun or partial shade for the best fruit display. Let branches root where coverage is wanted, then trim those that reach paths or neighbouring plants. Establish with regular watering and avoid persistently waterlogged ground.
