Cherry x 'Bing'

Cherry x 'Bing': Heart-Shaped Cherries with Deep Colour

Bing produces large, heart-shaped cherries with deep maroon skins and juicy, sweet flesh. Spring blossom leads to a July harvest on a substantial tree.

Plant Characteristics:

• Height: 7-8 m
• Spread: 6-7 m
• Flower Colour: White
• Flowering Period: Spring
• Foliage: Green
• Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun
• Soil Requirements: Well-Drained Soil

Uses and Benefits: A classic choice for eating cherries fresh and preserving the surplus. Allow plenty of canopy space so the fruiting branches receive sun and remain reachable.

Care Instructions: Bing needs a compatible sweet cherry flowering at the same time; a sour cherry is not a pollination partner. Water during fruit development and protect ripening cherries from birds where needed.
