Cherry-Plum x 'Nadia': Firm Red Fruit Between Cherry and Plum
Nadia brings together cherry and plum qualities in fruit larger than a cherry but smaller than a conventional plum. Its dark red skins and flesh enclose a firm, sweet, juicy crop ripening from August into September.
Plant Characteristics:
- Height: 2-3 m
- Spread: 2-3 m
- Flower Colour: White
- Flowering Period: Late Spring to Summer
- Foliage: Green
- Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun
- Soil Requirements: Well-Drained Soil
Uses and Benefits: Use the harvest for fresh eating, pies and preserves. The relatively compact tree offers a distinctive fruit choice for a smaller orchard.
Care Instructions: Place in full sun with moist, well-drained soil and a compatible pollinator with overlapping bloom. Thin congested branches, water through dry spells and let the red fruit reach full flavour before picking.
