Buxus NewGen Freedom®

Buxus NewGen Freedom® : Lustrous Foliage and a Full Rounded Form

NewGen Freedom® builds a full rounded boxwood with glossy green foliage and a relatively vigorous habit. Its dense outline suits both a formal hedge and an individual specimen. Selected for resistance to boxwood blight and leafminer, it still benefits from good airflow and sensible care. Winter exposure can bring bronze tones to the leaves. Regular shaping helps retain the close, balanced form that makes this selection useful.

Plant Characteristics:

• Height: Approximately 105 cm
• Spread: Approximately 105 cm
• Flower Colour: Green; inconspicuous
• Flowering Period: Spring
• Foliage: Green
• Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun / Partial Sun / Full Shade
• Soil Requirements: Well-drained soil; neutral to alkaline

Uses and Benefits:

Grow NewGen Freedom as a rounded specimen, a clipped hedge or a green framework for a foundation bed. Its relatively quick development suits plantings where a full outline is wanted sooner than slower boxwoods can provide.

Care Instructions:

Provide well-drained soil and space for air to circulate through the planting. Shape regularly after new growth develops to control its vigorous shoots. Resistance to blight and leafminer does not replace careful sanitation and monitoring.
