Asparagus officinalis 'Guelph Millennium': Productive Spears and Airy Summer Foliage
Guelph Millennium is a male asparagus selection developed for abundant spears and tolerance to rust and other common asparagus problems. After the harvest period, the fern-like foliage builds energy for the following season.
Plant Characteristics:
- Height: 125-150 cm
- Spread: 45-50 cm
- Flower Colour: Green
- Flowering Period: Summer
- Foliage: Green
- Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun / Partial Sun
- Soil Requirements: Average to Dry Soil; Well-Drained Soil
Uses and Benefits: Establish a permanent asparagus bed for repeated spring harvests. The tall, fine foliage later adds a light texture along the edge of the productive garden.
Care Instructions: Give crowns time to establish before taking a full harvest. Stop cutting so the ferns can grow, keep the bed weed-free and maintain fertile, moist soil with good drainage.
