Apple x 'Northern Spy': A Late Apple for Pies and Keeping

Northern Spy develops large red apples with substantial skins and tender, juicy flesh. The flavour blends gentle sweetness with acidity, and the crop generally ripens in October.

Plant Characteristics:

• Flower Colour: White, Pale Pink
• Flowering Period: Spring
• Foliage: Green
• Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun
• Soil Requirements: Well-Drained Soil; Average to Dry Soil

Uses and Benefits: A strong choice for apple pies and an orchard intended to supply stored fruit. Its larger apples also offer a generous portion for fresh slicing.

Care Instructions: Allow space for a well-lit canopy and plant a compatible pollinator. Thin a heavy crop to support fruit size, then harvest fully mature apples and keep only blemish-free fruit for longer storage.
